Governance & trust
This page is maintained by the OpenEDGE.Ng team to answer common questions about how the platform is run, how content is reviewed, and what we do (and do not) claim. It is not an independent certification.
Who runs OpenEDGE.Ng
OpenEDGE.Ng is a coalition initiative. American Open University (A-Global) (A-Global) is the founding partner. Additional Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education are onboarding as coalition members. The platform itself is operated by the OpenEDGE.Ng team on behalf of the coalition.
- Founding partner: American Open University (A-Global).
- Coalition members: Onboarding — new institutions listed on the home page as they join.
How content is reviewed
- Courses are aligned to the NUC CCMAS framework at the level indicated on each course page.
- Contributors are verified educators. Faculty verification uses an institutional email (
.edu.ngpreferred). - Modules go through editorial review before they are published to the public catalogue.
- Every published module carries a version number so learners can see when content changes.
What we do not claim
OpenEDGE.Ng is not a degree-granting institution. Free certificates confirm completion of a module set on this platform; they are not a substitute for a university degree or a professional licence. Course content belongs to its contributing authors and their institutions.
